A Child’s Place School documents children’s work and school events through photography taken by staff members. Photography at A Child’s Place School is used for reflection, planning, and reporting to parents.
• Ages: 2–7 years old
• Schedule: Extended Care available Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM
For 50 years A Child’s Place has been a place for young children to create from their own imaginations, to be themselves, and to become a whole person eager to explore the world. The program follows the belief that children have a hundred languages in which to express themselves and that from birth they are eager to learn and relate to their world. At A Child’s Place these languages are facilitated so children can explore and construct relationships, knowledge, and identity, and curiosity is nurtured to form an early love for learning that supports future higher-level thinking. A Child’s Place is licensed by the Department of Children and Families. The school uses the phrase “Children Are Born Curious®” as a unique feature of its approach.
Parents describe the school by saying, “ACP embodies what early childhood education should be...” Another parent says, “A Child’s Place is one of the greatest gifts I have given my children!” and a third parent shares, “Our children are cared for, respected, listened to, encouraged, and challenged...”
