Newark School of the Arts offers programs that include an Early Childhood Music & Movement Program, Early Childhood and Bridge Classes, and access to a Media Lab. Most events and performances at Newark School of the Arts are free and open to the public. Families can complete online registration with the option to pay in full or use a payment plan.

Newark School of the Arts has been changing lives through the arts since 1968 and has over 55 years of experience in arts education. The leadership team includes Interim Executive Director Sharon Salvador, Early Childhood Music & Movement Program Coordinator Pablo Concha, Dr. Grace Hackett, and Dr. Patricio Molina, who is an alumnus of Newark School of the Arts and Head of the Student Conservatory at Carnegie Hall. Newark School of the Arts has an accessibility statement that it does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities and provides accommodations as needed so individuals with disabilities can participate, and families who need special arrangements are asked to call the office at 973-642-0133 two weeks in advance.
Newark School of the Arts is involved in community efforts such as a joint partnership with Sharron Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts called Community Partners in Arts & Well Being and an initiative called ArtsRX — Your Ticket to Better Health!. Newark School of the Arts students have presented a “Concert for Healing” to raise funds for local hunger relief and for abused and neglected children. The school has received a $1,000 donation from artist Laura Daigle during her Kaleidoscope Tour and support from Eagle Scout Nathan Ege. Newark School of the Arts notes a Grammy nomination for Newark native and jazz legend Antoinette Montague and has announced the selection of its first all-female Executive Board.
