About
The Sundance School Summer Camps include two summer camp options for children. Summer Theatre Camp Session 2 and Session 3 each run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The camps take place at The Sundance School, which has a 500 square foot auditorium used for a multi-sensory, interactive, hands-on learning environment called “the Happening,” connected to four yearly themes.
• Ages: 2–15 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday camp options, including extended-day hours from 7:30am to 6:00pm or 7:30am to 6:30pm
The Sundance School was established in 1977 and has over 40 years of experience helping children create, explore, and shine. It is a premier independent day school for children ages 2 1/2 years through 8th grade, with an average class size of 8 and a student-teacher ratio of 7:1. STEAM education, project-based learning, individualized instruction, Spanish classes, and a stimulating arts-integrated curriculum are part of the school’s approach, and students ages 2.5 years through 8th grade have 15 or more performance opportunities each year. Four yearly themes culminate in “the Happening” in the 500 square foot auditorium, and more than seven Sundance alumni have professional acting careers. The Sundance School’s mission is to ignite within the hearts and minds of its students a passion to make the world a better place while inspiring them to become successful and lifelong learners. Families who attend come from towns in Essex, Somerset, Middlesex, Morris, and Union Counties, and 85% of teachers have at least five years of Sundance teaching experience.
