About
Little Ivy Academy offers hands-on labs and camps where kids build and program real and mobile robots, create and code their own video games, interactive stories, smartphone apps, and dynamic websites, and invent electronic smart gadgets and other electronic inventions. Participants also film and edit digital stop animation videos, special effects videos, and digital movies, design and deploy spy tech, and program and produce artificial intelligence as part of a range of digital inventions and projects.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
Little Ivy Academy offers hands-on afterschool STEAM labs on its own campus, in local schools, and through AcademyOnline, along with online and onsite programs that match kids’ interests and family schedules. Programs are available for a community of kids from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade and can also be arranged for schools, libraries, camps, friendship groups, clubs, and Scouts, with events and workshops where kids can try the programs. The academy states that learning about technology should be fun, challenging, and personal, with labs and camps that are described as engaging, age appropriate, and focused on real science and real fun. The program describes an inclusive community that views each child as capable of doing what they set out to do through activities that match their abilities and interests, and it notes that staff are makers, educators, and lifelong learners who share a vision of getting children excited about technology through active engagement and meaningful discovery. Schools, libraries, and camps also bring Little Ivy Academy programs to their students, patrons, and campers through Academy Program Solutions.
