Spring Break Camp is a 5-day program during week 1 of Spring Break that includes skiing, snowboarding, community service, and lacrosse. Participants spend three days skiing and snowboarding and two days in community service and lacrosse activities. The camp includes lessons, tickets, and rentals for all three skiing and snowboarding days.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: 5 days during week 1 of Spring Break with ski and board days from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM and regular camp days from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM

On Monday, March 17, Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 20, the schedule focuses on skiing and snowboarding, with the camp day on snow running from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM and bus pick up at 7:30 AM and bus drop off at 4:00 PM at the GSR. Tuesday, March 18 is dedicated to community service at Good Shepherd Clothes Closet, and Friday, March 21 features lacrosse at Sage Ridge School. Lunch is not provided and can be brought or purchased without using cash at Palisades, and bus transportation to and from Palisades on March 17, 19, and 20 is included in registration, with parents able to self-transport if they notify Skiing Is Believing.
Skiing Is Believing states that its mission is to empower children through sports and community service to build confidence, resilience, and life skills by combining physical activity with opportunities for service. The organization describes its camps as including physical challenges, community service, and lessons that go beyond the field or slopes, with each week featuring new physical challenges, unique community service opportunities, and meaningful lessons. Since 2003, founder Meghan Ochs has dedicated her life to coaching children in a variety of activities.

Staff credentials include KT Tesch’s Early Childhood Education certification earned in 2016 from Santa Rosa Junior College, Adia Walker’s degree in Business with a minor in leadership from Dominican University of California, Owen’s current study in Social Work at UNR, Trent’s work toward a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in music at UNR, Rebecca’s master’s degree in speech pathology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and Jim’s Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP) credential.
Skiing Is Believing reports working with 132 local partner organizations, including 28 community service partners, and notes that Tuesday’s community service day takes place at Good Shepherd Clothes Closet. One parent testimonial states, “My son has done the camps and has loved all of them! The foundation of teaching children movement along with caring for community is something priceless and I truly appreciate the passion they pass along. I whole heartedly recommend Skiing Is Believing!” A $400 non-refundable but transferable fee applies to all camp registrations, and refunds are not available due to changes in weather, air quality, sick or missed days, or other factors out of Skiing Is Believing’s control.
