Rockland County YMCA School Age Care

Rockland County YMCA School Age Care operates as part of the Rockland County YMCA, which offers amenities such as a fitness center, gymnasium, pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, indoor cycling, group exercise, adult basketball, adult volleyball, weights, youth tennis, and youth volleyball. The program includes School Age Care sites at Bardonia Elementary and Lakewood Elementary, with administrative offices supporting school age child care.

• Schedule: School Age Care at Bardonia Elementary and Lakewood Elementary runs from school dismissal to 6:00 pm during the school year from September through June; the main facility operates Monday–Friday 6:00 am–9:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am–6:00 pm, and Sunday 7:00 am–5:00 pm.

The Rockland County YMCA lists its mission as strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The organization is accredited by Praesidium. The leadership team includes CEO Philip Donnelly and CFO Randi Hertzman, with a Board of Directors that includes Board Chairman Stephanie Melowsky, Vice Chairman Max Jacobs, Board Secretary Kevin Hanlon, Board Treasurer Wayne Henry, and other members such as Hon. Linda Christopher, Kristina Coleman, Kim Coons, Antonio Dinkins, Daniel J. Garcia, Eric Kolle, Chris Sampson, Raquel Sanchez, Shaffer, Rony Charles, Joe Chiappa, Brian Metcalf, and Candice Whatley. Community involvement activities have included a Subaru Coat & Shoe Gifting Event that provided 180 Nyack Head Start children with coats, shoes, and socks, and the YMCA Gala 2025, which raised over $85,000 to support youth scholarships and community programs.
