About
Camp @ the Camp is a summer day camp that includes outdoor play, art exploration, and nature discovery. The program runs as a day camp with set camp hours from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Campers participate in these activities during two separate two-week sessions in July.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Two two-week sessions (Session 1: July 6–17; Session 2: July 20–31), camp hours 9:00am to 3:00pm; campers may register for one two-week session
• Price: Camp tuition is $550 per 2-week session for Beacon residents and $750 per 2-week session for non-residents; a $25 tuition discount is offered for additional siblings attending simultaneously; tuition assistance may be available
Camp @ the Camp is for 5–12 year old campers (who have completed grades K–6) and 13–15 year old CITs (Counselors-In-Training) who have completed grades 7–9. Campers are age 5–12 as of December 1, 2025, and CITs must be between 13 and 15 years old and must have turned 13 by December 1, 2025. Younger children must have completed one year of full-day kindergarten. It is expected that children can handle all of their own bathroom skills and can independently change their own clothing. No extended day programming is offered.
Online registration opens Tuesday, February 24th at 10:00am for Beacon residents. All campers must have current immunization records and a summer program questionnaire uploaded to a MyRec account and approved by Beacon Recreation before registration. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a set number of spaces available to ensure balanced age groups each week.
The program is led by Mark Price, Recreation Director. One testimonial describes the experience as, “Camp….. where strangers become friends and friendships last forever.”
