Yanarella School of Dance

Yanarella School of Dance LLC offers ballet, baton, combination classes, contemporary, dance with me (Mommy & Me), dancing with baby, hip-hop, jazz, pointe by invitation only, tap, and tumbling (acrobatics). The combination classes introduce ballet, tap, and tumbling, and Combo 4 also adds jazz. Contemporary was formerly titled modern, and the hip-hop classes combine jazz with styles such as breaking, locking, and popping.

Programs

• Ballet — 7+ · Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Semi-Advanced, Advanced, Beginner/intermediate Teen/Adult, Advanced Adult
• Baton — 6+
• Combination Classes — 3-7 · Introduces ballet, tap and tumbling; Combo 4 adds jazz; Combo 3+ and Combo 4+ are special hour-and-a-half classes.
• Contemporary — 10+ or in 2nd year of Ballet · Formerly titled modern. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
• Dance with Me (Mommy & Me) — 6 months-2 years · Caregiver/child class introducing creative movement and motor skills development.
• Dancing with Baby — 7+ weeks · Aerobic carrier class for mom and baby.
• Hip-Hop — 7+ · Classes combine jazz and a wide range of styles, notably breaking, locking, and popping. Jazz is required.
• Jazz — 7+ · Focuses on coordination, flexibility, rhythm, isolations, stretches, progressions, technique and combinations.
• Pointe — By invitation only.
• Tap — 7+ · Fusion of rhythm and Broadway tap with emphasis on clear sounds and foot articulation.
• Tumbling (Acrobatics) — 4+ · Students study and train in tumbling, flexibility, endurance, and strength; levels include Tumble Bunnies (Beginner), Intermediate/Advanced.

• General schedule: Our year begins in December and runs all year until our recital in November. We offer shortened Introductory Courses and Summer Camps.

About the provider

Yanarella School of Dance LLC was founded in 1957 and has been in the Hudson Valley for over 60 years. The program states that every child should have the same opportunity to dance, regardless of talent or ability. It also performs and participates in events in Beacon and the greater Hudson Valley area throughout the year, including Beacon’s St. Patrick, Memorial Day, and Spirit of Beacon Day parades.
