About
Onondaga 4-H Camp offers hands-on activities that include archery, orienteering, sports, hiking, and fishing. Campers take part in sessions on forestry, geology, nutrition, and topics such as reduce, reuse and recycle. The program also includes shelter building, stream ecology, ticks, watersheds and water quality, and arthropods.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: Weekly sessions in 2026 with camper drop-off from 8:15–8:30 am and pick-up from 3:30–3:45 pm; sessions run 7/6/26–7/10/26, 7/13/26–7/17/26, 7/20/26–7/24/26, 7/27/26–7/31/26, 8/3/26–8/7/26, and 8/10/26–8/14/26
Onondaga 4-H Camp is open to the public, and campers do not have to be 4-H members to attend. 4-H Camps are described as being packed with hands-on experiences, and campers learn about clean water and trees and how they keep the world thriving. A Camp Program Resources PDF is available and includes a one-page overview for each program offered at camp, with a description, vocabulary, pictures, and information to continue learning.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County has operated since April 15th, 1913. The mission of Cooperative Extension is to enable people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County collaborates with other organizations, agencies, and institutions and involves local volunteers in every aspect of program development and delivery. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization and is part of the Cooperative Extension land grant system, a partnership between County, State, and Federal governments administered in New York State through Cornell University. The leadership team includes Scott Hudson, Youth & Family Development Team Leader, and David Skeval, Executive Director.
