Onondaga 4-H Camp includes hands-on activities such as hiking, archery, orienteering, sports, volleyball, and playing kickball. Campers take part in programs like Arthropods, Fishing, Forestry, Geology, Nutrition, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Shelter Building, Stream Ecology, Ticks, and Watersheds & Water Quality. Activities also include measuring the diameter of a tree, writing a poem about nature, using a compass, practicing knot tying skills, searching for insects with a magnifying glass, using a microscope to observe insects, fishing in Upper Onondaga Park, learning about watersheds and measures to limit water pollution, and finding insects.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM

Onondaga 4-H Camp is open to the public, and participants do not have to be 4-H members to attend. Kids ages 7–12 participate in the camp, and 4-H Camps are described as packed with hands-on experiences. Camp Program Resources are available as a PDF that includes a one-page overview for each program offered at camp, with a description, vocabulary, pictures, and information to continue learning, covering Archery, Arthropods, Fishing, Forestry, Geology, Hiking, Nutrition, Orienteering, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Shelter Building, Stream Ecology, Ticks, and Watersheds & Water Quality. Registration for Summer 2026 opens on Monday, 2/9/2026.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County has responded to the needs of local residents since April 15th, 1913. The mission of Cooperative Extension is to enable people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County collaborates with other organizations, agencies, and institutions and involves local volunteers in program development and delivery. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization and is part of the Cooperative Extension land grant system, a partnership between County, State, and Federal governments administered in New York State through Cornell University. The leadership team includes Scott Hudson, Youth & Family Development Team Leader, and David Skeval, Executive Director. 4-H is grounded in a deliberate, research-backed development and delivery model, and 4-H was founded on the belief that when kids are empowered to pursue their passions and chart their own course, they become true leaders in their lives, careers, and communities.
