About

Syracuse Children’s Theatre offers spring semester classes, fall semester classes, February Break Camps, April Break Camps, and Summer Camp for children from Pre-K through Grade 12. Its classes run as semester-long courses, and all courses culminate in a production or public performance.

Programs

  • Spring Semester Classes — Pre-K through Grade 12 · Classes start in mid-January and meet once a weekend for a three-hour class. Younger students Pre-K to Grade 1 meet either Tuesday or Thursday nights for an hour and fifteen minutes.
  • Fall Semester Classes — Pre-K through Grade 12 · Weekend classes begin mid-September and meet once a weekend for a three-hour class. Younger students Pre-K to Grade 1 meet either Tuesday or Thursday nights for an hour and fifteen minutes.
  • February Break Camps — Grades 1 to 9 · Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm over February Break.
  • April Break Camps — Grades 1 to 9 · Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm over April Break.
  • Summer Camp — Grades 1-12 · Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • General schedule: Year-round classes for children from Pre-K through 12th grade. Spring and Fall classes are semester-long courses. February and April Break Camps are week-long classes offered during school breaks. Summer Camp has five, two-week camps. All courses culminate in a production/public performance.

About the provider

Syracuse Children’s Theatre has been a theatrical training ground for the children of Central New York since 1999. One testimonial from Kellie Ellis, Associate Director, says SCT is "a fun place where kids and teens discover the magic of theatre, explore their talent and create lasting friendships." Todd Ellis, Founder and Executive Director, says the program has served thousands of students over 25 years and that many have gone on to work in various aspects of theatre.
