North Shore Holiday House

North Shore Holiday House is a tuition-free summer sleep-away camp where campers take part in arts and crafts, games, sports, recreational swimming, dance, drama, and nature activities. The program also includes girl power activities, special field trips, and counselor- and volunteer-led options such as languages, zumba, traditional dancing, martial arts, and financial literacy.

Since 1914, North Shore Holiday House has operated as an independent, not-for-profit organization providing free summer experiences to more than 200 children each summer. The camp serves more than 200 girls each year from Long Island whose family incomes meet the USDA guidelines for free or reduced lunch. Its programs are described as designed to educate, inspire, and empower campers, in line with its mission to enrich the lives of girls and empower them to navigate the world ahead. North Shore Holiday House is accredited by the American Camping Association. The organization also operates a thrift shop that is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm and offers a camp open house with tours of camp and an opportunity to meet the camp director and learn more about the program.
