Its mission states that the YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The organization offers comprehensive domestic violence and sexual assault services for women and children, including support, education, and legal assistance to women who have experienced domestic violence, rape, and sexual abuse. It provides safe housing for the homeless, impoverished, and those in need at Carolyn’s House and Crisis Housing facilities, as well as stable housing for formerly homeless women and children each year. A crisis hotline is available 24 hours a day by call or text at (716) 433-6716, and these services and trainings are also provided to local schools and community groups to enhance community safety. The program also offers employment and training skills for marginalized women in a safe environment returning them to the workforce and is focused on helping victims of sexual and domestic violence find hope and healing.
