Youth Services (Before & After School Care, Day Camp, Preschool, Summer Programs, Universal Pre-K) includes before and after school care, day camp, preschool and Playroom Plus, summer programs, and Universal Pre-K. The program offers kindergarten readiness activities as part of its early childhood options. It is part of a broader set of Youth Services that also include affordable childcare.
The Youth Services programs are operated by the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier. The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier was formed in 2015 through the merger of YWCA Tonawandas and YWCA of Niagara, and it has a legacy of involvement in social justice and community engagement dating back to 1913. The organization’s mission states that it is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, and that its mission is to increase equal protection and equal opportunity for women and girls of color. The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier also provides comprehensive domestic violence and sexual assault services, a 24-hour crisis hotline by call or text at (716) 433-6716, and safe housing at Carolyn’s House and other crisis housing facilities. These services and trainings are also provided to local schools and community groups to enhance community safety.
