The YMCA of Middletown Youth Programs follow the mission, “Where there’s a Y, there’s a way for all of us to grow stronger, together,” and state a focus on health in body and mind and gaining skills and opportunities. The organization reinvests each year in local initiatives such as scholarships, wellness services, and community outreach, and offers financial assistance. The programs include adaptive aquatics for individuals with disabilities. Members are asked to limit their workouts to 30 minutes during peak hours and to wipe down their machines with antibacterial cleanser after each use. The Wellness Centers include free weights, strength training equipment, and many types of cardiovascular machines, and some cardio machines have individual televisions or are within viewing distance of televisions that can be linked to the machine. The facilities also have an indoor track that is 1/20 of a mile for walking or jogging and easy access to the Heritage Trail for outdoor walking, biking, and running.
