Dance Theatre of Harlem School is part of Dance Theatre of Harlem, which maintains a world-class school that trains young people in classical ballet and the allied arts. The school operates within a leading dance institution of unparalleled global acclaim and follows the broader mission of Dance Theatre of Harlem to present a multicultural ballet company performing demanding repertory at a high level of quality. Students at the school train in classical ballet as part of this mission.
The school’s leadership team includes Tai Jimenez as Director of Dance Theatre of Harlem School; Augustus van Heerden as Associate Director of the Lower/Upper School; Rachel Afi Sekyi as Associate Director of the Tendu Program; Danielle Thomas as Manager of Student Affairs; and Najeree Wallace as School Accountant. Dance Theatre of Harlem’s mission includes maintaining this world-class school, as well as providing arts education, community outreach programs, and positive role models for all.
