Kids of Summer Sports NYC offers baseball, basketball, flag football, rookie camp, multi-sport sessions, and a Rookie Multi-Sport Camp. The program also runs after-school classes, weekend training clinics, school break camps, and travel baseball through the NY Bluebirds.

Kids of Summer Sports NYC began as a six-week summer baseball clinic in 2002 and became a year-round program in 2008. Over the years it added basketball in 2011, the NY Bluebirds travel baseball organization in 2013, flag football in 2017, and a Rookie Multi-Sport Camp for younger campers in 2022, with 2026 noted as its 25th anniversary. The leadership team includes Executive Director Mike Handell, Program Director Brian Handell, Camp Director Francesca Gioeli, Assistant Director and Director of Basketball Caden Burton, and Ahmed Cohen. The program’s stated goal is to offer NYC children and families access to quality, fun, affordable, and local baseball instruction in the summer months. With the support of families, community, and coaches, Kids of Summer Sports NYC now trains more than 1,000 children each year.
Parent testimonials describe long-term involvement with the sports camps and travel teams, highlight the coaches and staff, and note that some children return year after year and look forward to attending.
