About

Nyack Center Youth Programs offers year-round youth activities that include before-school programs, after-school programs, summer camp, teen council, and enrichment programs. The program also includes special events and activities such as Community Cooking, Pride Sunday Family Fun Day, Monster Mash, Legacy Gala, and Music & Readings in a Holiday Spirit. Youth and families can take part in annual cultural and educational events including a Black History Month Celebration, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratory Contest, a Cultural Bazaar, a Women of Leadership & Vision brunch, and a Health & Wellness program.

• Schedule: The Nyack Center office is open Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 5:30 pm, and the Nyack Center follows the Nyack Public School Calendar; if school is closed, the office and Nyack Center's school-based programs are closed.

Founded in 1990, Nyack Center Youth Programs operates within an organization whose mission is to create connections across social, cultural, and economic boundaries and to improve the lives of all in Nyack and the larger community of Rockland County. The mission states that the organization is dedicated to antiracist action, committed to work to dismantle all forms of oppression, and focused on learning and growing through differences while seeking a more compassionate society together. Nyack Center relies on volunteers, partners, and donors, and accepts donations of funds, eggs, cooking oil, butter, and shelf stable milk, with additional support coming through Strawberry Place, People to People, and Soup Angels. Peter Lang and Rebecca Lang announced a donation of $40,000 to Nyack Center's Health & Wellness program and offered a dollar-for-dollar match of an additional $10,000 for donations to that program.
