Bethany Arts Community is a non-profit arts organization founded in May 2015 by David Lyons as Bethany Arts Community, Inc. Its mission is to be a space and environment where all forms of art can be learned and expressed, with hope and acceptance as the norms, and to welcome artists from young to old and all levels of experience to explore and create art that the community can engage with. The organization describes itself as fostering sharing, connection, and collaboration in an inclusive culture where people experience the power of art to improve lives and expand their perceptions and perspectives of the world. Bethany Arts Community is led by a team that includes Co-Founder and Board Member David Lyons, Executive Director Bonnie Bradley, Development Director Nancy Zallo, Program & Events Coordinator Alexa (Lexi) Rudley, Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator Julia Schonberg, Office Manager Vanessa Uribe, and Maintenance Associate Brian Medina, along with a board that includes President Jessica Irons, Vice President Paul Wallace, Treasurer Laurie Vander Hart, Secretary Kimball Lyons Gell, and Board Members Brenda Montanile, Dana Teague, Joyce Sharrock Cole, and Monica Robles. The organization connects artists and community members in Ossining and offers programs and events that introduce art into the local community and beyond, as a space to bring artists and members of the community together.
