Bethany Arts Community Programs is run by Bethany Arts Community, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in May 2015 by David Lyons. Bethany Arts Community in Ossining was founded in 2015 as a space to bring artists and members of the community together, and the property was sold to Bethany Arts Community, Inc. in September 2015. The organization states that it aspires to be a leading center for arts creation, instruction, and appreciation and offers a wide range of programs and services designed to help many forms of art be taught, produced, and flourish.

The mission of Bethany Arts Community is to be a space and environment where all forms of art can be learned and expressed, with hope and acceptance as norms. The mission further states that Bethany nurtures the creative process and welcomes artists from young to old and at all levels of experience to explore and create art that the community can engage with. Bethany describes its culture as inclusive and focused on sharing, connection, and collaboration, where people experience the power of art to improve lives and expand their perceptions and perspectives of the world.

Bethany Arts Community Programs take place within a 44,000-square-foot facility on 25 acres, which was purchased from Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, and the chapel on the property has been converted to a performance venue. The site also includes an outdoor sculpture park, performances, gallery exhibits, artist residencies, and studios, along with interdisciplinary arts workshops in painting, drawing, photography, and 3D printmaking.

Leadership and staff for Bethany Arts Community include David Lyons, Co-Founder (with Lucy Lyons) and Board Member; Bonnie Bradley, Executive Director; Nancy Zallo, Development Director; Alexa (Lexi) Rudley, Program & Events Coordinator; Julia Schonberg, Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator; Vanessa Uribe, Office Manager; and Brian Medina, Maintenance Associate. Board members include Jessica Irons, President; Paul Wallace, Vice President; Laurie Vander Hart, Treasurer; Kimball Lyons Gell, Secretary; and Brenda Montanile, Dana Teague, Joyce Sharrock Cole, and Monica Robles as Board Members.

Testimonials from artists describe Bethany Arts Community as offering artist residencies that combine solitude on a Hudson Valley hilltop with the camaraderie of artists from around the world, and one testimonial notes that Bethany Arts Community is less than an hour away from New York City. Other testimonials describe experiences with studio space, housing, lodging, weekly stipends for choreographers and dancers, rehearsal and performance spaces, solariums, gallery floors used at night, audio and lighting equipment, grounds to walk, and patio space to be outdoors. Several testimonials mention that artists used their time there to develop new work, including a solo piece for kids and a new theater piece.
