Oswego YMCA Youth Programs include youth sports, enrichment programs, summer camp, a Play and Learn Center, Before and After School programs, family programs, community leagues, special events, and FREE Open Gym at the YMCA. The Youth Center & Skate Park are also part of Oswego YMCA Youth Programs, and the Youth Center offers FREE Open Gym at the YMCA at 265 West 1st Street on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3–5 pm.
• Schedule: Oswego YMCA hours are Monday–Friday 6:00 am–9:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am–6:00 pm, and Sunday 8:00 am–4:00 pm, and Youth Center hours are Monday–Friday 11:00 am–6:00 pm.
Since 1855, the Oswego YMCA has focused on empowering young people, improving health and well-being, and inspiring action in and across the Greater Oswego area. The mission of the Oswego YMCA states that strengthening community is its cause, with programs that provide opportunities to improve physical and mental health, form lasting connections, learn something new, and contribute to the community, guided by core values of caring, honesty, respect, and inclusion. Through the generosity of donors and the community, 1,221 members from the Greater Oswego community belong to the YMCA, 8,253 kids have taken part in youth sports, enrichment programs, summer camp, and the Play and Learn Center, 248 children and families use the Before and After School programs in the Oswego City School District and Mexico Central School District, and 7,908 people of all ages participate in family programs, community leagues, and special events.
The leadership team includes Executive Director Cheryl Baldwin; Communications & Marketing Director and Health & Wellness Director Trish Levine; Family Director Sydney Slewett; Human Resources & Business Manager / Membership Engagement Coordinator Pam Stephens; Membership Administrator Alyssa Smith; Play & Learn Center Coordinator Kim Christopher; Respite Director Colton Dryden; School Age Childcare & Summer Camp Director Amy Miller; and Sports, Youth Center and Skate Park Director Peter Griffin. The Executive Board includes President/Chair Robert Close, Vice President/VC Trina Mills, Secretary Olivia Peel, Treasurer Cynthia Tascarella, and board members Sandra Beshures, Taylor Davis, Kevin Kovacs, Steve Gioia, Rosemary Poindexter, and Mike Russell.
