Camp East Woods

Camp East Woods offers a wide range of activities, including archery, soccer, baseball, softball, slip 'n slides, swimming, playground time, dance, art, woodworking, cooking, science, and computer-based activities. Campers use facilities such as two full gymnasiums, a theater stage, dance and art studios, a woodworking shop, cooking facilities, a multi-purpose air-conditioned room, science and computer labs, a library, an archery range, sports fields, two swimming pools, and a playground.

Camp East Woods states that its mission is to provide a joyful and inclusive summer experience for children through hands-on, engaging activities, with staff led by experienced educators and counselors who focus on personal growth, self-esteem, and core values. Each camp group is led by a Lead Teacher who is a professional educator or teaching assistant during the school year, or a college graduate pursuing a master’s degree in education or a related field. The camp notes that it offers character-based and skill-based experiences that balance outdoor activities with indoor programs inside the historic East Woods School building, and that every counselor knows every camper by name. The program lists a Lower Camp camper-to-counselor ratio of 1:4 and an Upper Camp camper-to-counselor ratio of 1:6.
