The WaterFront Center Youth Programs

The WaterFront Center Youth Programs includes the Junior Summer Program, where campers sail, fish, take marine education, watch birds, and explore the marine environment. The program also offers marine education, sailing, Marine Explorers, fishing, and Pond Yacht Woodworking for children and teens, plus public harbor experiences aboard CHRISTEEN or IDA MAY for children age 3 and up.

Programs

• Junior Summer Program — Summer program for children; the site says campers spent days sailing, fishing, marine education, bird watching, and exploring the marine environment.
• Youth programs and camps — children and teens · WFC offers marine education, sailing, Marine Explorers, fishing, and Pond Yacht Woodworking for children and teens.
• Marine Education Family Expeditions — 90-minute program; minimum 3 participants; group size up to 8 people.
• Intro to Sailing — $150 · Two-hour sail with an instructor; up to 4 people.
• Kayak Wildlife Tours — $50–$70 · 90-minute guided kayak excursion; single kayak $50, double kayak $70; maximum group size is nine.
• Public harbor experiences — children must be at least 3 years old · Sail aboard CHRISTEEN or cruise on IDA MAY.

About the provider

The WaterFront Center was approved in 1998 and established in 2000. Its mission is to connect people to the water through education and recreation.

• Paddle Rentals — Single kayak, double kayak, and paddleboard rentals are offered on Oyster Bay Harbor.
