For Pre K and Kindergarten players, each weekly clinic is 1 hour, and for grades 1–7, each session includes a practice followed by a game for a total of 1½ hours.

• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Fall season on Saturdays from September 19 to November 7 (no soccer on October 10), with 1-hour weekly clinics for Pre K and Kindergarten and 1½-hour practice-plus-game sessions for grades 1–7

Pelham Rec Soccer states a mission that includes positive coaching, open registration, balanced teams, good sportsmanship, everyone plays, and supportive parents. The program is open to all children in grades Pre-K to 7th grade who live or attend school in Pelham, with Pre-K players required to live in Pelham, and the Pre-K program is for players who will be starting kindergarten in September 2027. Programs are run entirely by volunteers, and parents can sign up as a coach or assistant coach when registering their child.

Registration is held on www.pelhamrecreation.com, and parents may use the “notes” field to express preferences regarding teammates and coaches, with such requests not considered if made after August 15. If a child plays Travel Soccer, this should be indicated in the “notes” field. Games must start on time, late starting games may be shortened, and all players must play at least two full quarters.

Uniforms are distributed at the first practice and players may keep the uniforms. All players must wear soccer cleats, shin guards, and soccer socks to all practices, games, and clinics, and baseball shoes or “all sports” shoes are not permitted, while sneakers are permitted for kindergartners and Pre-K. Soccer socks should cover shin guards, and jewelry including earrings, watches, necklaces, and bracelets is not permitted, with no exceptions for newly pierced ears, and referees conduct a pre-game check and strictly enforce these rules. Each child should bring a proper sized soccer ball to each practice, with Pre-K and Kindergarten using size #3 balls, and each child should bring a water bottle to every game and practice.

Referees must be at least 13 years old, with those aged 13 awarded community service and referees 14 years and older paid. The Pelham Rec Soccer Board is mentioned in program information, and contact details include an email address of [email protected] and a Pelham Rec Department phone number of 914.738.0153.
