ROC Summer Theatre Experience

ROC Summer Theatre Experience includes acting, singing, dance, public speaking, confidence building, speech, dramatic movement, improvisation, and writing the script for a 10–12 minute show. Participants also work with snippets and scene starters, do arts and crafts, watch movies, and play games as part of the program.

• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: From July 6 through August 29, 2026, with before care available as early as 7AM and after care available until 5PM; Pint Sized Performers create a 10–12 minute show, Kid shows are typically 60 minutes in length, and Junior productions are 60-minute versions of full Broadway shows.

ROC Summer Theatre Experience is part of ROC Summer Theatre Experience, an official OFC Creations LLC program, which is described as the largest theatre summer camp program in New York State, presenting 30 full musical productions in eight weeks at multiple locations. Each student in Pint Sized Camps, Kid Camps, and Teen Camps is guaranteed a role in the show under a no-cut policy, with auditions worked into class material for Pint Sized Performers rather than held as separate auditions. Kid shows are typically Junior productions that are 60-minute versions of full Broadway shows, and teen productions typically present a full Broadway or off-Broadway-length show, with performances open to family and friends and including costumes, props, and set pieces. Before-care and after-care are available, with no after-care for Pint Sized Performers, and families are encouraged to have campers bring books and games from home for these times.

OFC Creations was founded by Eric Vaughn Johnson in 2005, and the organization notes Johnson’s extensive background in educational and professional theatre. The OFC Creations team is described as a staff of professional artists with experience from around the globe, and the program states that working theatre professionals teach the next generation of theatre professionals. Since 2005, OFC has focused on youth engagement, performing arts education, and connections with the community, and it is proudly based in Rochester, NY, serving community artists since that time.

For summer 2026, ROC Summer Theatre Experience highlights a theme of “anything being possible,” with brand new show titles, a few new directors, and an additional new location. The program notes that OFC Creations’ number one focus is on camper and parent experience, and that OFC Creations’ ROC Summer Theatre Experience is unlike any program in New York State.
