Hofstra University notes that it actively contributes to the civic and cultural life of Long Island. Hofstra University states that it is an EO/AA/ADA educator and employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, physical or mental disability, marital or veteran status in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. The camp uses a camp finder tool that lets families filter by a child’s grade and interests to see matching programs. The university notes that its 240-acre campus is a designated arboretum and that the Hofstra University Museum of Art has a collection of more than 70 outdoor sculptures from influential 20th-century artists. Hofstra University also states that it is the only university to have hosted three consecutive U.S. presidential debates (2008, 2012, and 2016) and is one of three institutions in the NYC metro area with accredited schools of law, medicine, and engineering.
