About

Capital District YMCA Youth Programs include day camps that offer a structured, screen-free environment where kids stay active, build social skills, and take part in age-appropriate activities led by trained staff. The programs are part of the Capital District YMCA, which focuses on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility through its programs and partnerships. Parents using these programs can also use Child Watch while they work out, and all group training classes are included with membership.

The Capital District YMCA states that its childcare programs are licensed by the Office of Children and Family Services. YMCA members in good standing from other associations are welcome to use the Capital District YMCA through Nationwide Membership, and Capital District YMCA members can visit participating Ys across the United States and Puerto Rico at no extra cost. What began as a small program at the Albany YMCA in 1936 has grown into a nationwide initiative that connects young people with democracy through hands-on learning. The Capital District YMCA also takes part in community efforts such as Basket Brigade, which teams up with local partners to provide Thanksgiving meals to over 1200 families, and Running Start, which distributes school supplies and clothing to more than 800 kids in need before each school year.
