About
Kids Country by BrightPath offers play-based learning with hands-on, educational activities that include outdoor play. The program features specific experiences such as Summer Sensory Play for Toddlers, Mindfulness and Yoga for Preschoolers, 50 Outdoor Summer Activities to Keep Children Busy, and Early Public Speaking. The schools use the BeeCurious proprietary curriculum framework and follow a Reggio Inspired approach, where the environment is viewed as a third teacher and classrooms are set up with furniture, equipment, and learning tools intentionally staged to offer learning potential and inspiration.
• Ages: 0–12 years old
Kids Country by BrightPath operates Infant Rooms, Toddler Rooms, Preschool Rooms, and school-age spaces, and its kitchen is described as the hub of the schools, with healthy snacks and meals prepared by experienced KC chefs and fresh fruit available throughout the day in classrooms as part of a holistic nutrition approach. The program is part of the Busy Bees and BrightPath family and includes partnerships in programming, nutrition, communication technology, and recreational fitness, with day schools that provide activities to enhance physical, emotional and intellectual skills while allowing children to learn through play, encourage independence, and foster a love of knowledge in children. Families use the Connect family engagement app, which captures and shares a child’s development and provides photos and videos from the day.
The mission of Kids Country by BrightPath states that the schools are Reggio Inspired, respecting the rights of children by observing and actively listening to their interests and needs as they interact with peers and their environments, and using this research to create individualized lesson plans for each child. The mission also states that learning is thriving in the schools because they put an emphasis on valuing children’s creativity, curiosities, and capabilities to encourage their sense of wonder.
Staff at Kids Country by BrightPath include numerous team members trained in medication administration and the use of Epi-Pens, and all staff are certified in First Aid and CPR. Criminal conviction and background checks are completed before staff start working with children and are repeated every year. Teachers are required to have formal education in early childhood education and to participate in at least 20 hours of continuing education each year, are compensated at the highest end of the pay scale for childcare providers in the region, and receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage, life insurance, a matched 401k program, and tuition reimbursement, which is associated with a low staff turn-over rate. Teacher-to-child ratios are listed as Infant Rooms averaging 1:5, Toddler Rooms averaging 1:7, and Preschool Rooms averaging 1:12.
One parent from the Stow location, Colleen Barnes, describes Kids Country by BrightPath as an outstanding child care center where her child has thrived in learning and socialization from 2021 to 2024, notes that staff are approachable and supportive with milestones like potty training, highlights the outdoor play area and community events and holidays, and gives an easy five-star rating. Another parent, Caitlin Carrino from the Fairlawn child care location, reports being very happy with part-time options and included meals, praises teachers Miss Beth and Mr. John as very caring, and mentions frequent photos and videos shared through an app along with improvements in her daughter’s social skills and imagination. A Medina parent, Kristen Mirabella, states that her daughter has great communication from staff, has fun every day, is learning a lot, and that the family enjoys photos uploaded through the BPconnect app and special events such as Breakfast with Santa, and she highly recommends the program. A parent from the Green child care location, Brianna Horner, recommends Kids Country, noting that all teachers and directors are great and patient, that her toddler enjoys the hands-on, educational activities, is constantly attended to, and that receiving pictures during the day reassures her that he is doing okay.
