Tutu School Akron - Tutu Camp

Tutu School Akron - Tutu Camp includes ballet class, time to decorate costumes, and chances for campers to learn the story of a famous ballet. Campers take part in a production of their own creation and do camp crafts. Tutu Campers create craft projects that might become props in performances or special momentos of their time at camp. Many camp sessions focus on different ballet stories from the classical repertoire, with favorites such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Firebird, and Cinderella, and some sessions, like Famous Ballet Stories Camp, focus on classic ballets and practicing being soaring swans or fearless fairies twirling through a storybook adventure.

At Tutu School, children are introduced to the world of ballet through storybook-themed classes, magical camps, and birthday parties. The Ballet Storytime curriculum highlights ballets and musical scores from the classical repertoire while promoting positive, confidence-building messages in which kindness wins, love is celebrated, and courage often shows up in a tutu. Tutu School Akron - Tutu Camp states that it exists to make space in the lives of children for creativity and joy and that it believes every child should know what it feels like to dance.
