Lake Erie Council, BSA – Nova STEM Program

The Lake Erie Council, BSA – Nova STEM Program offers Scouts structured Science Nova Activities, Technology Nova Activities, Engineering Nova Activities, and Math Nova Activities. These activities are part of the Nova program, which is built into Scouts’ current Scouting programs and includes hands-on projects guided by Nova counselors and mentors. Scouts complete specific Nova activities in each STEM area and earn an associated Merit Badge for each activity as part of the program requirements.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

The mission of the Nova STEM Program is for Scouts to explore and expand on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through their current Scouting programs, while recognizing and awarding their additional efforts, and to foster curiosity and understanding of STEM concepts and their real-world applications. Scouts can earn a Nova award for each of the four STEM areas and may work with a mentor to complete their own experiments and studies within different STEM fields. Those with a strong interest in STEM can work toward the Supernova Award, and Scouts who earn three prestigious awards receive them in a ceremony.
