About
Columbus Children’s Theatre Education & Performance Programs include the Sandbox Series with brief, easily digestible theatre, Theatre for the Very Young productions with sensory play and immersion, and adaptations of beloved childhood stories. The program also offers the Spotlight Series geared toward families and youth audiences, a Professional Series with professional performers, designers, and technicians, and professional-level productions featuring youth and adult performers. Additional activities include sensory-friendly performances, touring programs, scenic design services, immersive storytelling, and year-round theatre education.

Since 1963, Columbus Children’s Theatre Education & Performance Programs have been part of Columbus Children’s Theatre, which has been a cornerstone of youth arts education and performance in central Ohio. The mission of Columbus Children’s Theatre is to transform families through the power of the stage. The organization has deep community roots and cross-sector partnerships and serves more than 85,000 individuals annually through education, performance, and outreach in classrooms, rehearsal studios, libraries, community centers, and on stage. Unique features include tuition assistance, subsidized tickets, outreach residencies, workforce development opportunities, a commitment to anti-racism, equity, and accessibility, and a goal to build a permanent education center and accessible theatre in the heart of Columbus. Featured faculty member Nick Cosgrove has worked as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, and acting coach across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years, performed as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys on Broadway and on the 1st and 2nd National Tours, and holds a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. One patron described a CCT production of Ragtime as “inspiring” and noted a standing ovation at the end of act one.
