Summer Camps

Columbus Recreation and Parks Youth Programs and Summer Camps are part of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, which offers a range of programs for toddlers to seniors. The department includes more than 400 parks on over 13,500 acres, along with community centers, athletic complexes, golf courses, trails, spraygrounds and interactive fountains, outdoor pools and an indoor aquatics center, nature preserves, reservoirs, dog parks, and a skate park. The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department was established as the City Recreation Department on July 15, 1910. On January 2, 1972, the City Recreation Department merged with the Division of Forestry and Parks to become Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. Its mission statement is: “We connect the people of our community through the power of nature, wellness and creativity.” The department states that it embeds in neighborhoods, knows its participants and serves as a gathering place for all.
