Programming for children is also available through Spanish classes at local schools and preschools in the Columbus area.

The Columbus Spanish Place is an Ohio business that started together with locations in Cincinnati in 2004 and Cleveland in 2011. The director is Marcela Salgar from Colombia. The mission of The Columbus Spanish Place is to serve English- and Spanish-speakers with products and services that offer educational, linguistic, cultural, social, and communication benefits through Spanish instruction, translation, ESL instruction, interpretation, social networking, study abroad, and print, broadcast, and online publishing, and to bring people together while encouraging tolerance, understanding, and exploration of new languages, cultures, and ideas. The Columbus Spanish Place partners with local schools and provides Spanish classes at schools and preschools in the Columbus area.
One parent reports that the teachers are “absolutely AMAZING,” that after just one class her daughter had learned a lot, and that classes are fun, very interactive, and keep the attention of the children. Another parent notes that her son began the year disliking the idea of Spanish class but, after two weeks, looked forward to the days he had Spanish and came home after every class with new words to teach the family. A preschool teacher describes a children’s teacher as energetic, upbeat, patient, caring, and developmentally appropriate, and says that parents report their children are speaking Spanish words at home.
