About
Lake Geauga United Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program that includes services in health, nutrition, social services, special needs, and parent involvement. The program provides free learning and development services to children from low-income families and welcomes children with disabilities. Parents are encouraged to participate in every aspect of the program, including being present in their child’s classroom and serving on program committees.
• Ages: 3–5 years old
During the application appointment, families are required to provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record, social security card, insurance information, proof of income, and any custody or court papers and IEPs if applicable. The mission of Lake Geauga United Head Start is to create a foundation for life-long learning and success for its children and families. Its vision is to be a driving force in the community through educational and support services. The program is supported by a grant from the Office of Head Start within the Administration for Children and Families, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The leadership team includes an Executive Director, site administrators for multiple centers, and coordinators for engagement and enrollment, disabilities and mental health, education, health, nutrition and wellness, and program development, as well as fiscal and administrative staff.
