NAMI Lake County, OH Support & Education Programs offers free mental health support, online groups, resources, and education for people whose lives have been affected by mental illness. The program offers understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and their treatment. It also provides an information line and email that are not a crisis line.

NAMI Lake County, OH is an organization of families, friends, and individuals whose lives have been affected by mental illness. NAMI Lake County, Ohio serves residents across Lake County, Ohio with free mental health support, online groups, resources, and education. NAMI is a nationally recognized non-profit. The NAMI HelpLine is available Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m. ET at 800-950-NAMI (6264). The Lake County Crisis Hotline at 1-440-953-TALK (8255) is available 24/7, and people can text “NAMI” to 741741 for 24/7, confidential, free crisis counseling. NAMI was founded in Madison, Wisconsin by Harriet Shetler and Beverly Young, and the first meeting led to the formation of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in 1979; in 1997, the legal name was changed to the acronym, NAMI. The mission statement for NAMI states that financial contributions to NAMI help create a world where all people affected by mental illness can experience hope, recovery, wellness, and freedom from stigma.
