Camp Carl

Camp Carl is a Christian camp that offers summer programs including Wrangler In Training (WIT), Crew, Day Camp, Horse/Equine Camp, High School Camp, Middle School Camp, Elementary Camp, and Leadership Camps. The camp provides cozy housing and serves tasty home cooked meals as part of its programs. Camp Carl Christian Camp and Retreat Center operates as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization focused on Christ-centered ministry.

Camp Carl’s stated purpose is to carry out the Great Commission and the Great Commandment, confront each camper with the Gospel of Christ, and encourage growth in the Lord and effective service throughout life for believers. The camp emphasizes dedicated time in God’s Word and daily worship, with counselors and staff described as intentional and Godly role models who offer spiritual, social, and emotional support as caring mentors. Camp Carl has been inspiring people to follow Jesus since 1964 and has been working since then to reach kids for Jesus Christ.

The Chapel purchased a YWCA camp in May of 1964 and named it Camp Carl, opening the first summer camp program on June 28, 1964 with eight weeks scheduled and 425 campers attending that first summer. The organization describes its heart as truly loving all and pointing all to the forgiveness and hope available in Jesus Christ. The success of this ministry is described as dependent on a community of believers who support it with fervent prayers, and partners are given opportunities to help more kids experience Camp Carl and to support college staff.
