Aim High Academy of Martial Arts offers classes and activities in Warriors, MMA, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, and Kickboxing, along with day camps and other camps. The program also holds Black Belt Testing and Belt Promotion events for students in its martial arts programs. The MMA program combines aspects of Filipino martial arts, sport karate, Muay Thai, Western boxing, jiu jitsu, and streetwise defense. The Taekwondo program blends olympic- and traditional-style taekwondo with accents of Western boxing, Thai kickboxing, Judo, and physical fitness. Tang Soo Do includes basic hand and kicking techniques, target and pad work, forms, weapons, and participation in tournaments and regional training clinics with the opportunity to become a black belt. The Warriors program for younger children is separated by age into Little Warrior and Warrior Junior and teaches martial arts and life lessons like respect, confidence, focus, and self-control. Kickboxing is a moderate impact fitness and combat class with influences from taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Western boxing, and is suitable for in-depth kickboxing training and a workout.
Martial arts instructors at Aim High Academy of Martial Arts are experienced in a martial arts discipline and are able to uphold and teach core values of kindness, integrity, and respect. Aim High Academy of Martial Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit martial arts school and is a department of Aim High PDX. The events department offers activities for youth year-round, including camps on school breaks and Saturday night activities, and camps are described as a fun and safe place for children to attend when they are on a school break. The program’s stated mission is: “Find Your Martial Arts Home at Aim High!”
