About
Oregon Basketball Club offers girls and boys competitive team options ranging from travel teams to teams for beginning youth basketball players. Players take part in practice, skill clinics, games, and camps as part of the program’s basketball activities.
• Ages: 9–18 years old
The program fields teams at each grade for boys and girls in grades 4–12. Athletes are regularly evaluated and given feedback on areas for development and how to use their strengths. Oregon Basketball Club uses the game of basketball as an analog to life to discuss life events and share life lessons, represented in a W.O.R.K. acronym of values shared with players. The coaching staff uses their network of coaching contacts at all levels to advocate for and promote athletes with the goal of obtaining scholarships for those who are qualified. The program states a belief that these values will grow players’ love for the game so they may pursue a relationship with basketball after playing as a coach, referee, or knowledgeable fan.
Oregon Basketball Club’s mission is to be an asset to the community, combining the staff’s passion and gifts to teach children the game of basketball and life lessons associated with it. The mission includes a belief that if children are taught to Learn, Love and Work Hard they will contribute to and become the community the staff wants to live in. The program partners with the student athlete, their parents, and their school coaches to maximize the athlete’s potential and equip them to navigate their path to placement.
