About
Youth Volleyball Leagues offers organized volleyball leagues where players take part in youth volleyball leagues and receive instruction in the fundamental skills of volleyball. The program includes coaching a volleyball team and focuses on teamwork and sportsmanship as part of the league experience. Registered players are contacted by their coach once teams are set, and team T-shirts are provided.
• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: Fall League runs from September through November with 8 games and one practice per week; Summer League runs from mid-June through July with an 8-game season, weekday evening games primarily on Mondays and Wednesdays, and one practice per team.
Players in grades 4–12 are welcome to participate in the youth volleyball leagues, and participants are instructed to register for the grade level they will enter in September or the upcoming school year. Grade levels 4–12 are offered in the fall league, with typical age group splits of 4–5th grade, 6–8th grade, and 9–12th grade, and the summer league also offers grade levels 4–12, with different ages possibly combined depending on registration. Players who make high school Varsity, JV, or JVII teams are ineligible to play in the fall program, and based on registration numbers, a competitive division may be offered, with tryouts held for that division.
Completed Medical Information & Consent Forms and Parent/Athlete Concussion Information Sheets are required before a player can participate in the league. Registration for youth basketball leagues must be done online or in person at the Athletic Center, phone-in registration has been discontinued, and a valid THPRD account is required to register. Training is available for volunteer coaches, and volunteer coaches are needed, with interested individuals directed to complete an online coaching application or call 503/629-6330 for more information.
The mission of the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is to provide high-quality park and recreation facilities, programs, services, and natural areas that meet the needs of the diverse communities it serves.
