Code Ninjas is described as the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids' coding franchise, with hundreds of locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and it holds the International Society for Technology in Education Seal of Approval, described as a coding school distinction. The organization states that it strives to have a positive relationship with the community by providing a safe and welcoming learning environment outside of school and by encouraging students to use coding skills to make a positive impact on the community, such as creating apps or websites to solve local problems.
The Code Ninjas Prodigy Program offers ninjas the chance to interact with leaders from large technology and gaming companies and visit their headquarters, and winning ninjas have visited Microsoft’s headquarters in Seattle, including Microsoft’s Garage and meetings with Microsoft Minecraft, Microsoft MakeCode, Xbox, Bing, and AI teams. Parent testimonials describe kids being excited to show what they made each day, enjoying Parent’s Night Out, coding a first game within 15 minutes, and wanting to sign up for after-school programs, as well as noting friendly teachers, excellent staff, and growth in coding knowledge and problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
