At RVPK Beaverton, the stated mission is to inspire safety, courage, confidence, and connection through love and movement to over 300,000 people across the Pacific Northwest. All staff are First Aid, CPR, and Basic First Aid certified, and an AED is on site. Revolution Parkour offers a variety of themed summer camps, and most camps include stories and activities where teamwork is important to complete missions, survive scenarios, or practice Jedi-themed skills. RVPK has a documented history of camps that are revisited year after year to create new stories, plots, story continuations, and games, and the program uses a large “Book of Games” suited to an obstacle-dense environment.
The average age of campers is 10 years old, and the required minimum age is 7, with registration depending on maturity and listening skills. The majority of staff are hired from within their own students, and many former students are now instructors. The average age for Ages 13+ classes is currently 17. Many parkour gyms across the United States look to Revolution Parkour Beaverton for best camp practices.
For full-day camps, participants are asked to bring extra snacks (in addition to the two snacks provided each day), lunch except on Wednesdays if pizza is purchased, a book for quiet reading time, athletic clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a good attitude, and they are asked not to bring electronic devices, weapons, or a bad attitude. Wednesday lunch is optional pizza at noon for $8 per person with a minimum order of three people, and Friday includes an ice cream treat at 2 p.m. at no charge. Two daily snacks are provided, with examples including cheese sticks, fig bars, protein bars, pepperoni sticks, and applesauce. All students must submit a signed waiver before attending any classes or events, and students under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
