Special Olympics Oregon

Special Olympics Oregon offers year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children, youth, and adults living with intellectual disabilities. The program includes regional sports, school programs, and health, fitness, and nutrition resources. It provides year-round sports training and competition in Olympic-style sports and offers school programs that promote acceptance and respect through sports with Unified Champion Schools for children with and without disabilities in K–12 schools.

Special Olympics Oregon provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children, youth and adults living with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. The organization serves children and adults from age 2–108 living with intellectual disabilities in every hometown across Oregon. It supports more than 5,000 Oregonians with intellectual disabilities each year through free sports, education, and health programs, with programming made possible by up to 10,000 volunteers each year, as well as donors, sponsors, foundations, and event participants. Special Olympics Oregon is a not-for-profit charitable organization incorporated in the state of Oregon and is accredited by Special Olympics, Inc. and responsible for following the policies and rules established by Special Olympics, Inc. in the delivery of services in Oregon.
