Special Olympics Oregon

Special Olympics Oregon offers sports training and athletic competition in Olympic-type sports for children, youth, and adults living with intellectual disabilities. It also offers Regional Sports with year-round training and competition in 11 Olympic-style sports, plus School Programs for children with and without disabilities in K-12 schools through Unified Champion Schools. The program includes Health, Fitness & Nutrition resources for athletes, and it lists Young Athletes, Unified Sports, Inclusive Youth Leadership, Whole School Engagement, Athlete Programs, SOOR Active, Healthy Athletes, and Athlete Leadership Council (ALC).

About the provider

Special Olympics Oregon provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children, youth, and adults living with intellectual disabilities. It supports more than 5,000 Oregonians with intellectual disabilities each year through free sports, education, and health programs. The program raises most of its funds locally through sponsorships, private donations, and special events that support 30 Local Programs across Oregon. Cost is never a barrier because programs are free to participants.
