YMCA Sports Camps

YMCA Sports Camps offer a range of activities that include basketball, volleyball, soccer, dance, pickleball, lacrosse, rock climbing, swimming lessons, archery, a zip-line, and a tree top obstacle course. Camps at the Beaverton Family YMCA include summer sports options such as basketball and volleyball, and Sherwood Y sports camps include built-in swimming lessons for the summer of 2026. Some basketball options are connected with the Portland Trail Blazers’ Rip City Hoops youth basketball program and the Damian Lillard Basketball Camp, which focuses on learning the basics and plenty of game action and has a small player-to-coach ratio. Camps use drills, scrimmages, competitions, and cooperative activities that are intentionally designed around peer collaboration and team building, with a curriculum focused on sportsmanship and leadership development. Camps are described as igniting passion and skill in budding athletes across a spectrum of sports.

The YMCA of Columbia-Willamette hosted its first meeting in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Portland in 1868.
