Lane Youth Soccer Association offers youth soccer through fall and spring outdoor soccer seasons and a week-long summer soccer camp. The program includes co-ed teams and games that follow FIFA laws with modifications at younger ages. Teams are balanced for skill, games are played with a no slaughter rule, and all players have the opportunity to play a minimum of one-half of all games they attend.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Most teams practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings around 5:30 for about one hour, with most games on Saturday mornings; fall season games run from September 12 to October 31, and the summer camp runs for one week in August
• Price: Regular registration is $175 for U6–U14 and $100 for U5
Lane Youth Soccer Association is a non-profit, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) organization that offers a Safe, Fair, Fun program emphasis and is not affiliated with AYSO. All coaches, officials, team managers, and volunteers with direct contact with children must complete a background check, and all coaches are trained every season. Games are officiated by referees trained and certified with a USSF approved program. The organization states that all children, regardless of experience, ability, or family income, are welcome to register, no try-outs are required, players are never cut, and strong financial assistance is offered for those in need. Lane Youth Soccer Association states that it provides world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives in a fun, family environment throughout greater Lane County, Oregon, and that it is committed to creating a fun for all, no-pressure atmosphere for teaching children the game of soccer. LYSA provides a fun, competitive youth soccer experience for all children of Lane County with teams located in many communities and operates with the support of dedicated volunteers while encouraging parent involvement at all practices and games.
