GYFA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the development of football skills, cheer, and character for Gresham area student-athletes. It is part of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League (TVYFL). The staff works with the Gresham High School Varsity Head Football Coach through practice, football camps, and coaching clinics with an emphasis on common terminology, offensive schemes, and defensive formations throughout the athletes’ years in the Gresham School District.
GYFA is an all-volunteer organization, and by registering, parents or guardians agree to work shifts in the snack shack and help with other game-day activities, with the option to have volunteer shifts covered by a proxy over 18 years old. The program welcomes students entering K through 8th grade each fall who reside in the Gresham High School boundary area. Most upper-level GYFA games are announced, and athletes hear their names over the PA system at the field. Junior Coach Registration is available for high school students who help coach alongside GYFA coaches. Gresham Youth Football is seeking dedicated volunteers for leadership roles within the association and gives special thanks to its sponsors, encouraging families to support those sponsors.
