The program’s mission statement is “HELPING KIDS, TEENS, AND ADULTS BECOME THEIR BEST SELVES!” Programs are described as martial arts for all ages and fitness levels, with structured classes meant to help develop coordination, physical fitness, mental strength, and social skills. Programs are also described as tailored to help achieve goals such as confidence, focus, fitness, and weight loss. The schools emphasize family-oriented values, academics, and fitness, and are described as a safe, affordable activity for the entire family. Families describe the schools as first and foremost a family, with a unique community of positive, fun, and caring individuals, and note that professional instructors prioritize making classes unique, fun, and safe.
Leadership at the Gresham schools is described as “Master Sam and other quality instructors at the helm,” and Master Sam Lider is specifically named in connection with USWC Taekwondo-Gresham and USWC Taekwondo-Downtown Gresham. USWC Taekwondo-Gresham has been voted Best Martial Arts school consecutively for several years. Community involvement is reflected in a stated focus on family, respect, and giving back to the community as main points of what students are taught in Master Sam Lider’s schools.
Parent testimonials describe the program as family oriented and mention that instructors care about all the students and work hard at building relationships with families. One parent notes that training there has been “a blessing” and calls it a safe, affordable activity for the entire family. Another parent describes the school as outstanding, dedicated, professional, and “downright lovely,” and says the staff consistently take time to help, support, listen, and guide. Parents also mention that the program helps children learn respect, confidence, and discipline, and one parent shares that their 4-year-old’s use of “yes sir” and easier bedtimes have been a valuable change since starting classes.
