Caio Terra Academy (CTA) Hillsboro was founded in 2009. All kids classes follow the curriculum set forth by 12-time world champion Professor Caio Terra, and the school teaches an evolved version of the Jiu-Jitsu passed down from Carlos and Helio Gracie. The kids programs are part of a school that offers programs for men, women, and children of all levels and welcomes students whether they are black belts or have never stepped onto a mat before. The kids programs are described as focused on helping children succeed in life and on teaching discipline and respect.
The leadership team connected to the program includes Association Founder Caio Terra; Head Instructor and owner Shawn Chandler; Assistant Instructor Brysen Yoshimori; and strength and conditioning coach and doctor of physical therapy Dillon Duvall, who is also certified as a functional range conditioning mobility specialist. All classes run in accordance with Caio Terra Association standards, and no two training sessions are described as being the same, with dynamic movements and actively resisting opponents. The academy offers a 2-day free trial with no obligation.
