City of Lake Oswego Youth Tennis introduces young people to tennis through learning tennis fundamentals, learning strokes, and working on movement and stroke development. The program includes both competitive play and noncompetitive play, along with games that focus on improving coordination, balance, and agility. Participants also learn about strategy, accelerated skills, mental training techniques, and physical development, with all equipment provided for classes that use red, orange, green, and yellow balls.

The Tennis Center’s mission is to provide a place for young people to learn about tennis and to become competent in the sport. Red ball, orange ball, green ball, and yellow ball classes use balls and court sizes that differ in compression, bounce, and court dimensions, and all equipment for these classes is provided. Jr. Excellence is described as a comprehensive program that offers preparation and support for competitive tennis, and a professional’s approval is required for Jr. Excellence.
