NBC stands for “Nothing Beats Commitment,” with a philosophy that daily habits shape future success, and the NBC Camps motto is “better players, better people.” NBC Camps has been running camps at the campus of George Fox University for over thirty years, and NBC Camps is celebrating 55 years of camp excellence. Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury, and the approximate staff-to-camper ratio is 1:10. Campers are separated into teaching groups and teams based on age and ability, and multiple leagues are used so that campers train with their appropriate age group and skill level. Campers are responsible for bringing their own athletic equipment, including at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball shoes and a clearly labeled basketball, and they are encouraged to bring a fan. NBC Camps is not responsible for lost or stolen items. A camp store is available at some locations for snacks, sports drinks, and NBC gear such as t-shirts and sweatshirts, and parents can use a camp bank option so campers can make purchases. Transportation is not provided, and campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. Allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical concerns should be included on registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for meals and arrival.
