NBC Camps states that “NBC” stands for “Nothing Beats Commitment” and uses the motto “better players, better people.” The mission includes integrating Christian values with top talent development research and teaching gratitude, confidence, goals, self-discipline, mental toughness, building stronger families and friendships, and developing a strong personal faith. Servant leadership is described as central, with coaches trained to serve others, be intentionally engaged with each camper, and operate as professionals, and campers and coaches are described as responsible for providing energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement to create a positive culture and learning environment.

Student athletes are placed in teaching groups based on skill, ability, age, and talent, and campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience. NBC Volleyball Complete Player Camps provide intensive instruction on serving, passing, blocking, setting, and position-specific techniques, with 6–10 hours per day of instruction, skill work, games, tournaments, events, and leadership training. The intensive camp is for intermediate and advanced players who have been playing for several years and know the game. The program notes an approximate 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio, and most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury, with campers transported to the nearest hospital in case of emergency.

Intensity Night is described as a unique NBC Camps event involving sweat, music, encouragement, and confidence building, and campers set their own level of intensity without being forced to go beyond their abilities. The Golden Ruler Award is identified as the highest achievement at NBC Camps, with criteria that include journaling, designing workouts, memorization, testing, essays, and more, and only campers ages 13–18 may try for this award. The Golden Ruler Award is also described as a way to teach campers to become a person of depth and reflection while instilling the importance of community service, discipline, and accountability.

NBC Camps notes that it is celebrating 55 years of camp excellence. Travel Team Director Breanna Lyons leads the NBC Travel Teams program, and NBC invites athletes ages 14–18 on international tours through this program. NBC states that each camper is considered vitally important, valued, and having incredible potential, and that at NBC Camps each moment has a purpose and meaning, with instruction on playing with intensity, grit, resilience, focus, intelligence, joy, and gratitude.

Players are expected to bring their own knee pads, athletic equipment, at least one pair of well-broken-in volleyball court shoes, and a clearly labeled volleyball, and campers ages 13–18 who want to attempt the Golden Ruler Award should bring a notebook. Campers are encouraged to bring a fan, and lunch and dinner are provided for extended day campers, who do not sleep on campus or eat breakfast on campus. Allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical concerns are requested on registration so campus and camp staff can be prepared for the camper’s arrival and meals. Transportation is not provided, campers are responsible for getting to and from camp, and there is no supervision before or after camp hours, so parents are asked to arrange timely pick-up. When there is a camp store, it sells snacks, sports drinks, and NBC gear such as t-shirts and sweatshirts, and a camp bank is available where parents can deposit money for campers to use.
