BettBakes was born in 2020. The leadership is provided by Elizebett, who is a writer, instructor, and consultant and teaches baking classes and ESOL classes at Portland Community College. Her credentials include a Masters Degree in Public Administration, over 12 years of experience in executive leadership and building collaborative teams, and over 20 years of baking in home kitchens. She has completed all signature challenges in the Great British Bake-off television show’s 15 seasons.
BettBakes also offers bilingual books for kids, including Baking ABC – English / Portuguese and Contar Numa Cozinha Portuguesa | Counting in a Portuguese Kitchen. Author and Emmy-nominated host Maria Lawton, the Azorean Greenbean, said Baking ABC is “a winner.” BettBakes acknowledges community-minded people and businesses who have uplifted, promoted, or supported the operation, including Azorean Green Bean - Maria Lawton, LiveLuso, PALCUS, Portugalia Marketplace, Tribuna Portuguesa, and KGW's Hello Rose City.
