PDX Lil’ Kickers is a non-competitive, introductory soccer and movement skills program that offers youth soccer classes and a soccer development program. Each class includes 50 minutes of highly creative, high energy, age-appropriate activities. The program includes the nationally renowned Lil’ Kickers child development program and the Skills Institute soccer development program for kids who love soccer and want to improve their skills.
• Ages: 18 months–12 years old
• Schedule: Classes offered year-round; 50-minute sessions during open hours Wednesday–Sunday, 8am–5pm
The mission of PDX Lil’ Kickers is to offer a non-competitive, introductory soccer and movement skills program for boys and girls ages 18 months–9 years. The nationally renowned Lil’ Kickers child development program offers classes all year long. Lil’ Kickers is described as the highest quality child development program in the Northwest. The program states that its activities help children master developmental milestones appropriate for their age.
Skills Institute is a soccer development program for 5–12 year-olds who love soccer and have a strong desire to improve their skills. Skills Institute allows evaluation, assessment and adaptation to a player’s initial skill level upon entry, and has a strong technical emphasis on soccer while allowing coaches to adapt instruction to individual player differences.
One parent, Andrea Tomlin, says, “My kids each started in Lil’ kickers at 18 months and I cannot say enough good things about the coaches - they are simply amazing. My kids look forward to seeing them every week, as do I. They are kind, engaging, energetic and extremely gifted in working with and teaching kids.”
