About
PDX Lil’ Kickers offers youth soccer classes that include Lil’ Kickers classes and Skills Institute classes. The program provides an introductory soccer and movement skills program where kids take part in 50-minute Lil’ Kickers classes that use highly creative, high energy, age-appropriate activities. These activities introduce soccer and movement skills and are described as helping children master developmental milestones appropriate for their age.
• Ages: 18 months–12 years old
• Schedule: Classes offered all year long; Lil’ Kickers classes are 50 minutes; Portland Indoor Soccer and The Plex PDX hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 8am–5pm
The Lil’ Kickers program is described as a non-competitive, introductory soccer and movement skills program for boys and girls ages 18 months–9 years and as a nationally renowned child development program, as well as the highest quality child development program in the Northwest. Skills Institute is described as a soccer development program for 5–12 year-olds who love soccer and have a strong desire to improve their skills, with a strong technical emphasis on soccer. The program allows evaluation, assessment, and adaptation to a player’s initial skill level upon entry, and coaches are described as well trained and as adapting instruction to individual player differences.
One parent, Andrea Tomlin, states, “My kids each started in Lil’ kickers at 18 months and I cannot say enough good things about the coaches - they are simply amazing. My kids look forward to seeing them every week, as do I. They are kind, engaging, energetic and extremely gifted in working with and teaching kids.”
